In 1963, as the end of the colonization of Algeria was causing political turmoil in France, an assassin, hired by the opposition, set out to kill French President Charles de Gaulle. A dark cloud hangs over Europe, and the world's intelligence agencies unite to prevent the murder, but nothing is known about the assassin except the code name "The Jackal," and even the man who hired him knows nothing about the assassin. "When, where, and how The Jackal would assassinate de Gaulle was a mystery that racked the mind. In this twentieth-century-scale manhunt, Britain, the United States, France, Germany, Italy, Belgium, South Africa and other countries' intelligence agencies, laying a dragnet to intercept and kill the "Jackal" who acted alone. However, the Jackal is always one step ahead, and keeps on picking up the pieces.
